Become An Open Water Diver

Prerequisites for adults or youth:

Virtually anyone who is in good health, reasonably fit and comfortable in the water can earn a PADI Open Water Diver certification. If you are between 12 and 14 years of age or have a child between these ages, there is a PADI Junior Open Water Diver program available. Cat Tale's experienced staff will be right by your side every step of the way. Getting certified is as easy as 1, 2, 3.

ONE - Classroom:
When you enroll for class you will be given a PADI Open Water Crew Pack. This pack includes a student manual, the Recreational Dive Planner, dive log book and a student record file. Prior to attending class students need to read the student manual and complete the knowledge reviews at the end of each chapter. In class Cat Tale certified instructors will go over the knowledge reviews, demonstrate equipment, and answer questions.

TWO - Confined Water (Pool Session):
You will meet for the pool session at Westminster College Pool in Fulton, MO. You will practice setting up your equipment that Cat Tale provides for you (with the exception of mask, fins, snorkel, and boots). You will practice underwater dive skills and best of all HAVE LOTS OF FUN!

THREE - Open Water Dives:
The skills you practiced in the pool will be put to use in the open water. The four open water dives are conducted over a period of two days at Quail Run Quarry in Rolla, MO. Upon successful completion, you will go through the "Pink Fin Christening" to br recognized internationally as a certified PADI diver. With your C-card your diving adventures have just begun.
